Rainforest Terrarium Workshop BOOKED OUT

Create a terrarium in the lovely surrounds of the Plant Craft Cottage with a tutor from Put Your Heart Into It.
A terrarium is a beautiful way to keep plants indoors and decorate your space. A closed rainforest terrarium is a miniature ecosystem consisting of plants, stones, moss, other materials and figurines, crystals or ornaments for decoration. You will learn how to build a healthy ecosystem and maintain it for years to come.
You will leave with your own large terrarium and a head full of ideas on how you can make more!

Beginners' Basketry Workshop No. 4

Learn how to create a contemporary basket using vines. Learn how to create a contemporary basket using a more modern basketry technique. Random weaving requires an expressive and creative way of working that appeals to many. In this workshop you can create a basket or let your imagination go wild to create a small garden sculpture. This visually appealing style of basketry echoes forms in nature such as the bird nest and seedpod. Materials will be provided as well as information about how to collect and prepare your own plant material at home. Examples of materials that will be available are happy wanderer, wisteria and willow. This workshop will inspire you to transform pruning material from the garden into treasured baskets that help tackle the growing war on waste. So join us for a beginners’ basketry workshop at Plant Craft Cottage nestled in the RBGV Melbourne Gardens. No experience needed. All materials included. Suitable for both adults and teenagers.

Botanical Weaving Workshop

With repurposed materials
Join weaver Ana Petidisto learn how to create your own frame loom and complete a woven artefact to take home. This workshop focuses on integrating materials diverted from the waste stream to create functional or decorative pieces. All supplies are provided and include materials to make a frame loom, weaving equipment, warp, weft and tapestry needles. Waste items provided include salvaged yarn waste and fabrics, cardboard, clean packaging, plastics, rope, e-waste components and more. Participants are encouraged to bring any of their own waste and items to repurpose. Ana Petidis is a studio weaver based in Ballarat and also currently teaches in the Fashion and Textiles Department at RMIT

Beeswax Wraps Workshop

In this workshop you will make two beeswax wraps to take home. The wraps can be used to cover food, are easily cleaned and will reduce your plastic waste.
