Weave a (plant-based + foraged items) Wall Hanging with Rachel Wood from Wunder Weave!

Learn to weave a beautiful woven wall hanging (with natural plant materials and foraged items) on a tapestry frame loom with Rachel from Wunder Weave. Rachel will guide you through each step of the weaving process from setting up and preparing a frame loom, variously knot styles and creative techniques and handy tips and tricks to create a beautiful piece of art to be proud of. To reflect the natural surroundings of the gardens, this workshop will have a strong focus on natural fibres and foraged items. All materials will be provided but feel free to bring any special plant materials you may wish to experiment with -eg -  cotton, linen, hemp fibres -  gum leaves, bark seeds and dried grasses. 

Each participant will have access to all materials and the use of a sustainably hand-crafted and locally made loom and tool kit. All participants will leave with a woven wall hanging up to 34cm wide x 40cm long. Please note, looms kits are available for use in the workshop only. If you would like to purchase the kit to continue your weaving journey, you will be able to do this on the day with eftpos facilities available.

How to Book

1. Members - Sign into your account using current details. Do not create a new account with a different email address. If you are having trouble signing in please contact the Friends' office on (03) 9650 6398

Non-members - log in using a previously set up account or create a new account. Then follow above instructions.

 

 3. Book for the event with the Register Myself button. (Choose registration option (member/non-member/student) if required).


4.
