Join us at this fascinating morning all about Salvias. Meg Bentley is a registered Plants Trust (GPCAA) Salvia Collection Holder and with nearly 400 species in her collection, Meg’s knowledge of Salvia is extensive. Meg will talk about some of the hardier, medium and low growing salvias which sit nicely into a perennial border, as well as a few taller ones for a great background effect. In particular, Meg will discuss those salvias ideally suited for positions in full sun or light morning sun. She will also cover some shade lovers and a few special salvias that are ideal for growing in containers, which can be moved to appropriate positions around the garden.
Pruning will also be covered, looking at the best time and how far to prune and a few pointers on propagation. Meg’s latest publication is “A Manual for Salvia Growers”.
